The Custom Shop: Custom Classics since 1988

In this episode of Behind the Build, we take a trip to the small town of Flanagan, IL, where we meet up with our friend John Wargo - the owner and creator of The Custom Shop. Although it may not seem like it on the outside, the Custom Shop produces some of the most advanced and technical show cars there are. Now, in 2026, they are preparing their 73rd car for the 2026 SEMA show.

Build 1: Arctic Torque

Arctic Torque is a 1970 Chevelle taken to the top. From a custom paint job to a Procharged Chevy 572 big block producing around 850 horsepower, this will be a beast to be reckoned with. This build will utilize our XKmax Ultra Car Kit, Interior Fiber Optic Kit, and much more!

Build 2: The SkyVair

The SkyVair is a fully customized ride, combining two different bodies from two different cars and building something that has never been done before! It may be bare metal now, but before you know it, this will be a show-stopper!
