A bare LED strip shows you every bulb. A fiber-optic strip shows you one unbroken line of light. XKGLOW's answer for Cybertruck interior lights leans on that line. The XKmax Interior Fiber Optic LED Strip Light Kit (SKU MX-FO-CT) lists at $989.99, ships with the converter a 48V truck needs, and runs from the XKmax app.
Cybertruck Interior Lights: What the Stock Menu Does
Start with what your truck already does. Tesla's owner's manual lists Ambient Lights, Accent Lights, and Footwell Lights under Touch Controls > Lights. When enabled, Ambient Lights come on whenever the headlights are on. Accent Lights run Off, On, or Night Only, and you can customize their brightness and color.
Night Only brings the accent lights up when the truck detects dim conditions outside or the convenience lights are on. Footwell Lights light the front and rear footwells when the headlights are on, and they also switch on when you unlock the truck, open a door, or shift into Park.
XKGLOW's kit is a separate system with its own controller. Tesla's controls live on the touchscreen, while XKGLOW's live in the XKmax app and on a 4-button RF key fob. The kit adds pre-built chasing themes, a DIY builder, and sync to music or speed.
Fiber-Optic vs LED Strip: One Line, Not a Row of Dots
A standard LED strip is a row of separate light points. Mounted bare, it shows them, and the closer you sit, the more obvious they get. A fiber-optic strip is built to read as one continuous line instead.
XKGLOW's kit uses both. Its listing puts cuttable, ultra-slim fiber-optic strips on the interior body panels and flexible LED strips in the footwell and door pockets. XKGLOW's page for the add-on fiber strip says you can trim it to fit anywhere from the dashboard to the doors and footwells.
That page also lists addressable RGB LEDs. Addressable LEDs can show a different color at each point along the strip, which is what lets a chase pattern travel down the line.
What Comes in the XKmax Fiber Optic Kit
The kit is built for the Cybertruck's 48V system, so the voltage converter is in the box, along with an RF key fob. The strips arrive preconfigured and mount with included 3M adhesive tape. XKGLOW rates the kit IP67 waterproof.
The XKmax app talks to the controller over Bluetooth, and the 4-button key fob gives you quick access to the looks you set. Inside the app you get 28 or more pre-built chasing themes with adjustable colors and patterns, plus speed and brightness controls. A DIY builder lets you make your own. The listing also names sync to music, vehicle speed, or acceleration, and one controller manages up to 10 zones.
XKGLOW's XKmax app tips page adds how-to videos for creating a theme, reversing one, and setting a default mode.
RGB or RGBW: Where the White LED Comes In
RGB strips make white by mixing red, green, and blue. RGBW strips add a dedicated white LED for a cleaner white. XKGLOW labels this kit RGB with chasing effects, so the strips in the box carry no dedicated white LED.
Two of the add-ons do carry one. The product page lists these under Make it Even Brighter, priced as 2-packs and 4-packs.
| Add-on | Color | 2-pack | 4-pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30in Slim RGB Fiber Optic LED Strip | RGB | $103.18 | $206.36 |
| 43in Slim RGB Fiber Optic LED Strip | RGB | $131.98 | $263.96 |
| 10in Slim Flexible RGBW LED Light Strip | RGBW | $47.98 | $95.96 |
| Compact LED Pod | RGB + pure white | $32.62 | $65.24 |
Extra wire comes in 3ft, 6ft, and 13ft lengths, from $11.98 for two 3ft wires. XKGLOW's app tips page also shows how to add accessory lighting to an XKmax controller through the app. Prices here are from XKGLOW's product pages as of October 1, 2026.
Cybertruck Kit or Universal Fiber-Optic Kit?
XKGLOW also sells a universal XKmax fiber-optic kit for cars and trucks in four sizes: Dash, 2 Doors, 4 Doors, and Dash + 4 Doors. The two listings differ in ways that matter on a 48V truck.
| Spec | Cybertruck kit | Universal kits |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $989.99 | $191.99 to $455.99 |
| Power | 48V-to-12V converter included | 11-14V input |
| Key fob | Included | Optional, $16.79 |
| Strips | Fiber-optic plus flexible LED | 30in and 43in fiber-optic |
| Built for | Tesla Cybertruck | Car and truck |
The universal page states no Cybertruck fit, while XKGLOW's 48V-to-12V converter lists at $69.99 and names Cybertrucks among its uses. If the universal kit tempts you, ask XKGLOW support before you pair the two. The Cybertruck kit is the version XKGLOW built for this truck, with the converter and fob in the box.
Power, Install Time, and Warranty
The included converter steps the truck's 48V down to 12V, which is what the controller takes. The listing puts the install at 3-4 hrs. If you would rather hand it off, the Get Install Help link opens XKGLOW's dealer locator.
Check the product page for the kit's warranty terms. XKGLOW's warranty page says a product's own listed period takes precedence over the general policy. Under normal use, the warranty covers LED failure, control module malfunctions, and wiring defects. It does not cover labor, and it excludes damage from improper installation, incorrect voltage, or improper wiring, so follow the mounting instructions as written.
Which Cybertruck Lights to Order First
Pick by where people look first. For the outside, the XKmax Atomix Profile kit ($635.99) puts light in the body panel gaps, bumpers, and running boards. The XKmax underglow kit ($1,299.99) installs under the body. Both list 3-4 hrs for the install and run in the same XKmax app as the interior kit.
For Cybertruck interior lights, order the fiber-optic kit as listed and add strips or pods only once you see it lit. Before you order:
- Check the SKU. The Cybertruck kit is MX-FO-CT, and the universal kits are MX-FO-MINI, MX-FO-STA, MX-FO-ADV, and MX-FO-PRO.
- Decide on white. Add the RGBW strip or the pod if you want a dedicated white LED.
- Block out 3-4 hours, or find an installer through the dealer locator.
- Buy from XKGLOW or an authorized dealer, because the warranty page limits coverage to those purchases.
