A JK can wear rock lights and a lit grille, then open its door onto a black floor. Jeep JK footwell lights fix that with a low wash of color under the dash and seats. It is the detail a passenger notices the second the door opens.

Why the Footwell Needs Its Own Strips

Footwell lighting asks for the opposite: color on the floor, with no bright line at knee height. XKGLOW's own write-up of the ULTRA kit says fiber-optic strips give a directly visible glow while LED strips are installed out of sight. The ULTRA page puts the fiber-optic strips on interior body panels and the flexible LED strips in footwell and door pockets.
Jeep JK Footwell Lights From XKGLOW: The Footwell Package
The package is an upgrade on the ULTRA interior kit (MX-FO-ULTRA), which lists at $499.99 for a base set covering four doors and the dash, key fob included. The Footwell Package adds $140, so the full order runs $639.99.
XKGLOW's write-up puts the front row under the dashboard for the driver and passenger footwells and the rear row under the front seats. The wiring diagram in the ULTRA instructions runs all four strips on one controller channel, channel D: two front strips on 6-foot wires and two rear strips on 13-foot wires. The base kit's own four 10-inch strips go in the door pockets, so the package is a separate four.

Every route runs on an XKmax controller. The kits include one, and XKGLOW limits the standalone strip to XKmax Series products and tells you to check your original kit before buying.
Which Footwell Strip Is RGBW
RGBW adds a dedicated white LED to red, green, and blue, and not every XKGLOW interior strip carries it. The Slim Flexible RGBW LED Light Strip lists 16 million RGB colors with that white LED, a dual-tone silicone rubber housing, and IP67-rated waterproof connectors. Check the product page for its lengths and prices.
The fiber-optic strips are listed as addressable RGB. The ULTRA page offers the 10-inch size as an add-on under the RGBW name but does not label the strips inside the Footwell Package, so the RGBW label sits on the standalone strip.
Two-Door or Four-Door: Count the Footwells
The JK covers the 2007 to 2018 model years, as a two-door and as the four-door Wrangler Unlimited. XKGLOW's interior kit pages name no Jeep model, and the ULTRA page is written for any four-door vehicle, so a JK Unlimited matches the description.
A four-door JK has four footwell spots, which matches the four strips in the package. A two-door JK has the front pair plus the rear seat floor, and the fiber-optic page sells 10-inch flex strips in twos and fours. Slide the front seats all the way forward and check the floor under them before you commit to the rear pair.
Strips on a door leave with the door. Footwell strips ride under the dash and seats, so they stay put when the doors come off.
Door Triggers, App Color, and the Key Fob
Footwell lights earn their place when they come on with the door. The ULTRA page lists sensor-activated functions that tap into door or courtesy lights to trigger a welcoming glow. The kit's mounting instructions add that no sensor wire action is preset: you set it in the XKmax app, then use the supplied T-tap connectors on a 12V trigger wire.
Confirm that wire with a multimeter before you tap it. The fiber-optic page names turn-signal sync for its sensor wires, while the ULTRA page is the one that names door and courtesy lights.
The XKmax app handles color over Bluetooth. The fiber-optic page lists 28 or more pre-built chasing themes, a DIY builder, and Music and Speed Sync, and the ULTRA page lists up to 10 independent lighting zones. The ULTRA kit includes an RF remote key fob, while the fiber-optic kit sells the 4-button fob as a $16.79 option.
Install Notes for a JK Floor
XKGLOW rates the fiber-optic kit at 1 to 6 hours, and both kit pages point to an installer through the dealer locator. The floor adds three rules:
- Plug the strips into the channel the diagram shows. The ULTRA instructions say each channel is preset for the lights in the diagram, and that straying from the layout may stop some lights from working.
- Route every strip and wire clear of the pedals and the seat rails, and away from anything that moves when you adjust the seat.
- Seal every connection. A footwell takes wet boots and, with the top off, rain. XKGLOW lists IP67-rated waterproof connectors on the slim strip, and its warranty page excludes water intrusion caused by incorrect installation or sealing.
Warranty on the Kits and Strips
The ULTRA kit shows a 5 Year Warranty badge, and the slim strip page shows a Lifetime Warranty badge. Check the fiber-optic kit's product page for its warranty terms. XKGLOW's warranty page says the term on the individual listing takes precedence, so read the badge on the page you buy from. Coverage requires proof of purchase and a proper install, and it does not cover labor for removal or reinstallation. XKGLOW has you register products to activate coverage.
