Everyone who rides with you sees one light up close: the dome light. Swap its factory bulb for XKGLOW's LED Dome Light Bulb Kit and that plain lamp takes its color from your phone.

What Is a Dome Light?
A dome light is the lamp set into your car's headliner that lights the cabin from above. It comes on when you open a door or press the switch on its housing. Map lights are the smaller reading lamps nearby.

Why Swap the Factory Bulb for an LED

It runs on one app: XKchrome. XKGLOW's instruction sheet points out that the brand has several apps in the App Store, and only XKchrome works with this controller. Leave the XKmax app out of this job.
Before You Start
You need three things:
- The kit, with the adapter that matches your socket
- A flat head screwdriver to free the lens
- Your phone, with the XKchrome app downloaded

How to Swap Your Car Dome Light Bulb, Step by Step
These steps combine the product page FAQ with the kit's instruction sheet.
- Confirm the socket. Match the bulb you're replacing to T10, BA9s or festoon so you grab the right adapter.
- Switch the lamp off and let it cool. A factory incandescent bulb can get very hot.
- Remove the lens. Gently pry the clear lens off with a flat head screwdriver.
- Pull the old bulb. Take the incandescent bulb out of its socket.
- Fit the adapter and the panel. Seat the matching adapter where the old bulb was and plug the LED panel into it. Secure the panel with the supplied 3M tape.
- Test it before you close up. Turn the dome light on. If the LED stays dark, remove it and reinsert it flipped around, because LED bulbs have polarity.
- Refit the lens. Carefully snap the clear lens back onto the housing.
- Pair it with your phone. Power the bulb with the lamp's switch or by opening a door. Open the XKchrome app and follow the on-screen pairing prompts.
Converting more than one lamp? Each bulb has its own Bluetooth signal, so every bulb gets paired during the first setup.
Dialing It In With the XKchrome App
Once paired, the XKchrome app runs the show. Pick any of 16 million colors, load one of more than 15 holiday themes, or build your own look in the DIY builder. Want a red dome light? Choose red, then switch to something else tomorrow.
The bulb can also dance to music, to your vehicle's speed, or to acceleration. A camera mode lets you aim your phone at an object and copy its color onto the interior bulbs. Convert the map lights too, and multi-zone control can show different colors across them.

If the Bulb Won't Light or Pair
- It stays dark. Flip it as in step 6, and make sure the housing switch isn't set to off.
- The app can't find it. Confirm you opened XKchrome, then power the lamp from its switch or with a door open.
- Only one of two bulbs responds. Pair the second bulb on its own, as in step 8.

Why isn't my car's dome light turning on?
