Most truck lighting budgets go where other people see them: underglow, rock lights, the tailgate bar. The cab is the view you get on every drive, and it deserves the same build.
Truck interior lights from XKGLOW come down to two upgrades. The XKmax RGB Fiber Optic LED Interior Ambient Light Kit for Car & Truck traces your dash and doors with a line of chasing color. The LED Dome Light Bulb Kit turns a dome or map lamp into a Bluetooth LED you recolor from your phone.
Two Ways to Light a Truck Cab
A fiber-optic line and a bulb swap solve different problems, and each runs on its own app.
| XKmax fiber-optic kit (MX-FO) | LED Dome Light Bulb Kit (XK-BULB-PANEL) | |
|---|---|---|
| What it lights | A line across the front of the cab and the door panels | The dome or map lamp you already have |
| How it goes in | Trimmable fiber strips with a controller | Replaces the existing bulb through a T10, BA9s or festoon adapter |
| Light | Addressable RGB with color chasing | RGB, 16 million colors |
| App | XKmax app | XKchrome app |
| List price at the time of writing | $191.99 to $455.99 | $42.89 |
Run both and your phone holds two XKGLOW apps: XKmax for the fiber line, XKchrome for the bulbs.
Sizing the Fiber-Optic Kit to Your Cab
XKGLOW's gallery labels these strips "For Truck & Car Interior," and the description promises "a snug fit for any car or truck interior." The strips are ultra-slim and trimmable, made for tight spots like your dash, doors and footwells. The LEDs are addressable RGB, meaning each point on the strip takes its own color and a pattern can run the length of the strip.
One limit to know up front: this is an RGB kit with no dedicated white chip.
The kit selector reads like a floor plan: Dash, 2 Doors, 4 Doors, and Dash + 4 Doors. Matching those names to truck cabs is our framing, not an XKGLOW fitment chart. Here is how we line them up:
| Your cab | Kit that lines up | Strips in the box | Controller |
|---|---|---|---|
| Any cab, dash only | Dash (MX-FO-MINI) | 2 x 30in | 2-channel |
| Regular cab (two doors), doors only | 2 Doors (MX-FO-STA) | 2 x 43in | 2-channel |
| Crew or extended cab with four doors, doors only | 4 Doors (MX-FO-ADV) | 4 x 43in | 4-channel |
| Four-door cab, dash and doors together | Dash + 4 Doors (MX-FO-PRO) | 2 x 30in + 4 x 43in | 4-channel |
At the time of writing, those four kits list at $191.99, $215.99, $347.99 and $455.99, in table order.
The description says the strip "can be cut to needed length," so a shorter rear door or dash run is covered. Under a "Make It Even Brighter" option, the product page also sells extra 30-inch and 43-inch fiber strips in pairs.
Each kit ships with an install tool and adhesive tape. None of the four includes the 4-button key fob, which is an optional add-on.
Check Your Panels Before You Order
XKGLOW's instruction sheet is upfront about the trim work. Fitting the strips could mean pulling dash and door trim panels. In extreme cases, it adds, trim panels, dash surfaces or other interior parts may need cutting before the light sits where you want it. It asks you to inspect your panels and gaps first. A return needs the kit uninstalled and in its original condition.
The listed install time is 1 to 6 hours. Want a shop to handle it? The product page links XKGLOW's dealer locator under "Need Install Help? Find an Expert." If you're doing it yourself, our car interior install guide lays out the full fiber install.
Run the Line From the XKmax App
Control comes from the XKmax app, which talks to the controller over XKGLOW's 5th-gen Bluetooth system. Setup starts on paper: the instruction sheet prints a QR code that you scan with the XKmax app to load your kit preset.
Inside the app sit 28+ pre-built chasing themes; colors, patterns, speed and brightness are all adjustable, and a DIY builder covers what the presets miss. The line can move with your music, your vehicle speed, or how hard you accelerate.
Sensor wires sync the lights with your turn signals, and the startup mode is programmable. Multi-zone control lets you tailor separate areas of the cab. A courtesy light is another job a sensor wire can take, set up under Config in the app. Prefer buttons? The optional key fob gives you quick access without reaching for your phone.
Overhead Lamps: The Bluetooth Bulb Swap
The fiber kit lights the panels around you. For the lamps above your head, XKGLOW sells "Bluetooth bulbs for dome or map lights," listed for "cars, trucks, campers, and more."
Each coin-sized bulb carries an XKchrome Bluetooth controller on its back. You fit it in place of the existing interior bulb, using whichever of the T10, BA9s or festoon adapters matches your socket. Input is 12V DC, with reversed polarity protection.
Control runs through the XKchrome app, a different app from your fiber line. The app's palette runs to 16 million colors, with more than 15 holiday themes ready to load and a DIY builder for anything else. The bulbs can also dance to music, speed or acceleration.
If a bulb stays dark after the swap, pull it and flip it around. The FAQ on the product page explains why: LED bulbs have polarity. Our dome light swap guide walks through the change from lens to pairing.
Want Pure White Too? The XKmax Interior Kit
The fiber kit stops at RGB. For clean white as well as color, look at the Interior Kit tier of the XKmax LED Underglow Light Kit (MX-CAR-MINI). XKGLOW calls the system "perfect for cars, trucks, Jeeps, and more."
The Interior Kit ships four flex strips and a 2-channel controller. Its LEDs mix RGB chips with dedicated white chips, which is exactly what the fiber kit lacks. The strips are rated IP67 and impact-resistant, built "for underglow and interior lighting use." Its instruction sheet plans for both front and rear footwells.
It lists at $179.99 at the time of writing. The RF key fob comes in the box only with the two combo tiers that add underbody tubes; for the Interior Kit, it is an add-on. Like the fiber kit, it runs on the XKmax app.
Choosing Your Truck Interior Lights
Start from the spot you want lit:
- A visible ribbon of moving color across the cab: the XKmax fiber-optic kit, picked by how many doors you want to trace.
- Color in the dome and map lamps from a straight bulb swap: the LED Dome Light Bulb Kit, on the XKchrome app.
- White light as well as color, down in the footwells: the Interior Kit tier, on the XKmax app.
Two Sample Cab Builds
These are starting points we would suggest, built from the kit names above:
- Regular cab, first upgrade: the 2 Doors kit traces both doors, and the LED Dome Light Bulb Kit takes over the dome lamp. You run XKmax for the strips and XKchrome for the bulb.
- Crew cab, full build: Dash + 4 Doors for the fiber line, the Interior Kit for RGBW footwells, and Bluetooth bulbs in the dome and map lamps. Both strip kits pair with the XKmax app.
Warranty terms depend on the product. XKGLOW's warranty policy puts most products under its Limited Lifetime Warranty and select products under a 5-Year Limited Warranty. If a product's own term differs from that general policy, the product's term wins. Buy from XKGLOW or one of its authorized dealers, since the policy covers only those purchases.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best LED lights for the inside of a truck?
It depends on what you want lit. For a chasing line of color along the dash and doors, pick XKGLOW's XKmax RGB fiber-optic kit. For dome and map lamps, the LED Dome Light Bulb Kit replaces the existing bulb. For white plus color, the XKmax Interior Kit adds RGBW strips.
How much do fiber optic lights cost?
XKmax fiber-optic kits from XKGLOW run $191.99 to $455.99 at list price as of this writing. The Dash kit is the entry point, 2 Doors costs $215.99, 4 Doors costs $347.99, and Dash + 4 Doors tops the range. The key fob is extra, and the listed install time is 1 to 6 hours.
Are LED interior lights worth it?
They are if you want more than a single fixed white. XKGLOW's dome bulb FAQ credits an LED upgrade with better brightness and light quality, plus longer-lasting performance than traditional bulbs. App control adds the rest: 16 million colors on the bulb, and chasing themes with music sync on the XKmax kits.
